It’s important to build a personal brand because it’s the only thing you’re going to have. Your reputation online, and in the new business world is pretty much the game, so you’ve got to be a good person. You can’t hide anything, and more importantly, you’ve got to be out there at some level.

Every successful organization needs processes and systems to excel and compete in the marketplace. However, what truly sets an organization apart is its leadership. A company is only as good as its leadership, be it executive leadership, department leadership or team leadership. All the processes and systems in the world can’t get people motivated to perform within an organization – they need guidance from strong and capable leaders who walk the talk and show the way.
If we then go from the premise that a company needs great leadership to sustain itself, have full employee engagement and achieve favorable business results – what makes a great leader then? An individual who is walking and talking her own personal mission statement and can truly harness her own brand to impact the lives of others.
I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Melissa Cassera who is CEO & President of Cassera Communications. She’s an expert for turning business owners into celebrities. I’ve personally worked with Melissa. Her coaching is what helped me secure mainstream media coverage. I’ve been noticing during my 1-on-1 client work and in workshops around personal branding that both entrepreneurs and corporate employees believe in various myths when it comes to what vehicles to use for their personal branding efforts. That’s why I asked Melissa if she could help bust through some of the myths around mainstream media and social media when it comes to building a personal brand. Listen in on our conversation here:
Thank you, as always, for reading, watching and joining in the conversation! And here’s the info that Melissa mentioned at the end of our talk:
