Mindfulness is about being fully awake in our lives. It is about perceiving the exquisite vividness of each moment. We also gain immediate access to our own powerful inner resources for insight, transformation, and healing.

To serve as a fully present and enthusiastic leader requires that you run on a full battery. When you and your team are physically healthy, you’re mentally strong, which contributes to your own personal success. However, through my work I encounter lots of leaders, both emerging and established, who are suffering from burnout, frustration and health issues.
I decided to connect with Linda Tate who is the founder of Vitamin Linda. She is a health supportive chef, financial & health coach and yoga instructor. Linda brings an unique perspective to both the corporate mindfulness and wellness arena in that she has both experience as a busy executive in the finance industry, as well as experience in running a wellness business. She’s easily able to navigate both worlds and doesn’t bring an ounce of “woo woo” to her approach for leadership wellness in the area of physical fitness and emotional well-being. In the video chat, Linda gives very easy and simple approaches to bringing about sustainable changes to your wellness and mindfulness practices. If you’re a Type A, you definitely need to listen in.
- Start with doing a meditation practice daily. As Linda said, she started off by just committing to one minute a day.
- Put yourself first in that you value what’s going on in the inside as much as what you value on the outside.
- Check in with your own personal value system to make sure that your commitments and actions are in alignment.
Linda’s recommendations are simple and all are very actionable. You can easily integrate her top 3 recommendations to see a very quick improvement in your well-being to help you thrive in your leadership responsibilities.
